Modern Farmhouse Kitchen & Breakfast Nook
My client is a busy mom of three who recently purchased and remodeled her new home with her husband. After years of having furniture that no longer suited her style she was so excited to completely furnish her home in a modern farmhouse style.
Although we were also working on a formal dining room she knew that that the kitchen and breakfast nook area would be the heart of her home and her formal dining room would be utilized for larger dinners with friends and extended family. She wanted a cozy banquette with durable blue and white striped fabric which we had custom built by a carpenter and a trestle table. I decided to add some navy chairs to the mix as I think they would pop so beautifully against those oak floors and the pendant lights you chose.
The artwork for the small wall picks up on the navy chairs and I just love the pop of yellow and thought it would be charming to add a faux floral arrangement with some color to the mix on the breakfast nook table. My client also wanted a custom bench for the entry way which would provide shoe storage to avoid pile up on the front door (still in progress of being built but will share all in the reveal) I chose linen, hmong and grain sack pillows for the bench- the perfect combo of texture and color.
The mix of industrial metals and pops of color are cozy, fresh and most importantly durable to stand the test of time for a family with little ones.
